The Glass Fiber Reinforced Rebar Plastics Rebar is made of alkali-free glass fiber (E-Glass) non-twisted roving or high-strength glass fiber (S) non-twisted roving and resin matrix (epoxy resin, vinyl resin), curing agent and other materials, made by forming a composite reinforcement material curing process, referred to as GFRP bar.

● Appearance

The shape of the GFRP ribs should be in the form of threads. The surface texture of the threaded rod body should be uniform, free of bubbles and cracks.  And the thread profile and pitch should be neat and there should be no damage.

● Resin matrix

For the resin matrix, we recommend using vinyl resin and epoxy resin or a mixed resin of vinyl resin and epoxy resin. When using unsaturated resin (o-phthalic resin, isophthalic resin) to produce glass fiber reinforcement, due to the erosion of the alkaline environment, studies have shown that the mechanical properties of the glass fiber reinforcement will be significantly deteriorated, such as being placed in an alkaline liquid for one month The tensile strength may decrease by more than 30%, and it is necessary to pay attention to the emergence of this problem during construction and use.

● Density

The density of GFRP Rebar material should be between 1.9 g/cm3 ~ 2.2g/cm3.

● Specification

The nominal diameter should range from 10 mm to 36 mm.  We recommend nominal diameters of commonly used GFRP ribs are 20 mm.  22 mm, 25 mm, 28 mm and 32 mm. The external dimensions, allowable deviation and straightness of GFRP bars should meet the requirements of Table 1.
